Comstock Heritage Sutro Quarry Sticks

Built upon a hand-wrought sterling silver base, three sliced raw diamonds set in fine silver bezels and three types of metal wires—14k rose gold, 14k yellow gold, and sterling silver—sit within (and upon) a thick border of 14k rose gold. The darkened sterling silver background and naturally ruddy coloration of the raw diamonds contribute to the buckle’s bold aesthetic, which is tempered and lightened just enough the burnished sterling silver and light refraction of the diamonds. As in many of our “scattered” design concepts, there is a sense of harmony about this buckle’s material chaos, but it feels tenuously contained here, as if a dynamic sort of tension arises from the strong presence of dark, open space and the wires’ encroachment upon the border.
